<title><![CDATA[Senior Social Worker - Emergency Duty Team ]]></title>

<description><![CDATA[Department:Children And Families Pay: Scp35 £29,236 to Scp38 £31,754 plus 30% Hours:37 hours per week inclusive of evenings, weekends and bank holidays, plus on-call working on a rota basis Closing Date:17/09/2010 Details:The Halton and St Helens Emergency Duty Team is a new initiative, which offers the opportunity to develop a new approach to the delivery of emergency support services across two neighbouring local authorities. 

The EDT provides an out of hours response to emergency situations for Children and Young People's Services, Adult Social Care and Health, Mental Health Services, Homelessness for Vulnerable People, Youth Offending and Asylum Seekers. We provide a point of contact for advice and where necessary an immediate emergency service to individuals and families who are experiencing crisis.  

As a member of the Halton & St Helens EDT Service you will be part of a skilled and professional team including 6 full time social workers.  You will work from a 24-hour office base and, at times, you will also be on-call from home.

Do you have the knowledge, skills and experience to deliver a high quality service to vulnerable children and adults?

Do you want to help shape the delivery of a new and exciting service?

Are you DIPSW or equivalent qualified with a minimum of 4 years post qualifying experience?

Are you an Approved Mental Health Practitioner with experience of working in a mental health setting?

Do you have experience of working in Children’s Services, with an awareness of the legislative and procedural issues relating to safeguarding work?

Can you operate with a high level of professional autonomy?

<description><![CDATA[Department:Environmental Protection Pay: SCP 11-13  (£7.64 - £8.00 per hour) Hours:37 per week (split shifts) Closing Date:13/09/2010 Details:This post is based at Mill Green School Newton le Willows, 37 hours per week (split shifts). Hours of work will be 7am until 10.30am and 2pm until 6pm (Monday – Thursday). 7am until 10am and 2pm until 6pm (Friday).

The Caretaker will be responsible for the care and security of the school premises, opening and closing, and alarm response (out of hours), which will be paid at the appropriate rate for call outs. The Caretaker will, from time to time be required to work overtime for after school activities, for which the appropriate rate will be paid. 

The duties consist of basic D.I.Y minor maintenance and repair. The Caretaker will also have some cleaning duties to include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing etc. The successful candidate will be required to undertake training, for example manual handling, ladder training, electrical awareness etc.

<description><![CDATA[Department:Children And Young People's Services Pay: Scp42 £35,430 to Scp44 £37,206 per annum Hours:37 per week Closing Date:17/09/2010 Details:St Helens Safeguarding Children Unit has developed excellent multi-agency relationships with partners across St Helens to improve outcomes for children, following an internal promotion we have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative individual, committed to improving outcomes for children and families.

Joining a team of highly committed and motivated managers working across all aspects of safeguarding,you will be responsible for chairing Looked After Children Reviews, Child Protection Conferences and Complex Safeguarding Meetings to ensure the implementation of sound, participative child care planning, leading to better outcomes for children and their families. The unit is a source of expertise for Safeguarding and LAC and you will be involved in giving advice to other professionals and service development.

With a minimum of three years' post qualifying experience, experience of chairing meetings and a commitment to delivering high quality services for children, you will have excellent communication skills, and experience of IT systems.  In return you will work in a supportive team, receive regular supervision and be encouraged to develop your professional expertise.

Hours:Between 30 and 37 hours Closing Date:10/09/2010 Details:Following a restructure of staffing posts in the Supported Living Service there are vacancies for permanent and temporary Team Leaders. We are looking for a dynamic and energetic person to manage a team of Supported Living Workers. The objectives of these posts are to provide strong and effective monitoring of staff working in a complex network of supported living tenancies for Adults with a Learning Disability. The principle duties of the post are to directly supervise a group of Supported Living Workers, ensuring that a high quality of care is provided throughout the service at all times.

This will involve the development and monitoring of effective support plans, risk assessments, supervision and appraisal of staff and the promotion of person centred planning. Team Leaders will take a leading role in the safeguarding of vulnerable adults, providing some direct care, supporting our duty office and providing support at Mulcrow Close also the post will require some on call duties and flexible working patterns.

Applicants must be extensively experienced in working with adults with a learning disability have a minimum of N.V.Q. level 3 in Promoting Independence and be willing to undertake further training. Experience of Information Technology applications relevant to these posts and managing groups of staff are essential.
