Responsibilities include the supervision of users of the Golf Course/Driving Range, following of Health and Safety procedures, security of cash and opening/closing of the buildings.

You must be able to work within the Council’s procedures and without supervision, respond to customer/service problems and refer such problems to the appropriate person.

You will be required to work the following shift patterns although hours may change according to the requirements of the service.

Wednesday; 13.00-20.00, Thursday; 14.00-20.00, Friday; 14.00-20.00 
Week Two

St Helens Young Peoples Drug and Alcohol Team are a high performing team, delivering a range of substance misuse services to young people and their families in order to reduce alcohol/drug misuse and associated risk taking behaviour.

The service has been successful in obtaining temporary external funding to create a new post to work specifically with young people at risk of alcohol related harm, including anti-social and offending behaviour.

As a member of the team you will possess the necessary skills and experience to deliver targeted and creative interventions to young people to raise their awareness of the risks of alcohol use.  You must be able to actively engage with young people in a range of settings, including parks and open spaces, and be available to work during evenings and weekends.  Previous experience of screening or assessing young people for substance misuse would be advantageous.

You must hold a relevant qualification (NVQ4 or equivalent) in youth work, social work, criminal justice, or health with up to date knowledge of substance misuse and related issues.  The desire to help young people overcome substance misuse, along with enthusiasm and a genuine commitment to improve young people’s life chances are important qualities for this role.

You will play a key role in supporting delivery and moving forward the North West Coastal Forum’s ambitious programme of work.

You will work with the Regional Coastal Project Officer to develop, promote and champion the North West Coastal Forum and deliver its programme of work, including the North West Coastal Trail project and the biennial regional coastal conference; co-ordinating partnership working, organising meetings and events and assisting with day-to-day project management and delivery as required.

Applicants should possess a degree in a relevant discipline (such as marine and coastal management, or environmental science or geography with a strong coastal or marine management element). Applicants will need to demonstrate a thorough appreciation of environmental, social and economic issues at the coast, together with a sound understanding of integrated coastal zone management and its application at local, regional and national level. Effective communication, presentational, project management and IT skills will be needed to establish good relationships with a wide range of national, regional and local stakeholders, and gain their ongoing support for the Forum’s forward work programme.
