The Safer Communities Service are seeking to increase the number of their sessional staff who will work as part of their established Outreach team, the primary focus of the work is to engage with young people who are at risk of becoming involved in anti-social behaviour or offending, through street based/outreach work.
The hours will vary from month to month on a needs led basis and will require evening and weekend working. There will be a minimum of three hours per four week period. The sessional worker rota is planned in advance on a monthly basis; in addition there will be occasions when requests to work additional session are made at very short notice.
Successful applicants must be able to engage well with young people and members of the community and be confident in delivering key messages, relating to Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour, Health and Personal Safety.
You must be enthusiastic and have some recent experience of working with children, young people and families in a statutory or voluntary setting and have an awareness of the local service provision.
