St Helens Councils Children's Disability Service are looking to recruit a Senior Portage Worker to work within the Early Years Hub.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational leader who will manage, develop and nurture a team of Portage Workers.
In addition to providing a home assessment service to a small caseload of Early Years children, the successful applicant will work as Lead Professional for a number of children on their caseload, liaising closely with parents/carers and other involved professionals. Inclusive, setting-based support for transition may also be provided for a small number of children on the caseload, within their local early years settings.
You will be required to deputise for The Bridge Centre Operational Manager, in the delivery and provision of services to pre-school children with a disability and their families.
You will support the ongoing work of The Bridge Centre and assist in the development of new ways of working, in line with current legislation and Government guidance.
This post requires a sound knowledge of child development, the EYFS Framework and an excellent understanding of SEND. The post holder will also have excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and also to work as a member of a team.
