The post of HGV Fitter is based within the Transport Section at Hardshaw Brook Depot, Parr Street, St Helens, maintaining a fleet of around 200 municipal vehicles and items of plant, ensuring efficient use and high quality service to our clients.

The post is a multi skilled role requiring the postholder to have a flexible approach to all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance and excellent technical skills

The successful candidate will have the ability to inspect and repair small, medium and heavy commercial vehicles to MOT/DVSA test standards and must be a qualified, suitably experienced fitter.

Category B full driving licence is essential.

The standard week is 37 hours Monday to Friday. A two shift system is in operation starting at 6.00am, although hours of work are negotiable.

In addition to the above salary and shift allowance there is the opportunity to undertake overtime as and when required.
