St Helens Local Safeguarding Children Board is seeking an Independent Chair to lead the Statutory
Multi-agency Board.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear commitment to the Children’s Safeguarding Agenda, and to ensuring ongoing developments and improvements in local work to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.

You will have a record of strong leadership within a relevant organisational setting, considerable experience in partnership working and the ability to lead and chair a strategic partnership board with a complex agenda. In addition, you will need to demonstrate substantial experience and understanding of the national and local safeguarding agenda, and current issues and developments.

The post will be on a self-employed basis, contracted to work a minimum of 30 days per year at 500 per day.

The appointment will be for a period of one year, to be reviewed with the Chief Executive 6 months after appointment, and then on an annual basis
