St Helens is seeking to attract a skilled and motivated person to join the borough's SEND service as a SEND Engagement and Development Officer (Local Offer). You will be joining St Helens at an exciting time of change, following a positive inspection by Ofsted/CQC and will be part of a team delivering on an ambitious change agenda.

You will lead and contribute to a range of developments to improve outcomes for children and young people (0-25 years) with special education needs and disabilities (SEND), in line with the Children and Families Act 2014 and Ofsted/CQC Inspection Framework.

You will lead on engagement, participation and co-production with children and young people with SEND and their families and all relevant stakeholders and will deliver an outstanding Local Offer website and associated social and written media to promote the Local Offer.

The successful applicant will have commitment, passion and enthusiasm as a champion for children with SEND. You will have a successful track record of engaging with young people and their families to capture their views and use the intelligence gathered to assist service design and joint commissioning and will have exceptional communication, negotiation and organisational skills and be able to influence practice at a senior level.
