St Helens Youth Service is looking to recruit a full time Youth Engagement Officer to work in partnership with young peoples aged 11 - 18 years who have been identified as requiring early help.
Young peoples are referred to the Youth Service for many reasons which can include: Social Isolation, poor school attendance, behavioural/ anger issues, drug/substance misuse amongst others.
The Youth Engagement Officer will work in partnership with other professionals and agencies to ensure that young people are receiving the help and support they require. The Youth Engagement Officers role will be to help young people to identify their own goals and provide interventions which encourage their personal and social development, help them to overcome specific difficulties and make a positive change, either through one to one support or group work.
The successful Youth Engagement Officer will also be requires to deliver group work within schools aimed at years 6 and 7 on a range of issues that affect young people today.
Interested candidates should have a clear understanding of Early Intervention and Targeted Youth Work and be committed to improving outcomes for young people
