A Care Assistant vacancy has become available at Kershaw Day Support Centre. The centre supports adults with a range of age-related health conditions including; Dementia. At Kershaw Day Support Centre, we’re looking for a passionate Care Assistant to join our team on a rota basis with some flexibility required on shift times. Shift pattern will be Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 5.00pm.

What are the duties?
· Enhancing the lives of the people who access day service.
· Lead and encourage people to participate in activities.
· Assist those people who access the service with personal care and additional support needs.
· Promote a person-centred approach throughout the service.
What skills do I need?
You will have previous experience or understanding of dementia. We require you to be passionate about supporting people. Cheerful and compassionate, you will possess sound judgement, initiative and problem-solving abilities and be able to pay attention to detail.
About the role
Under the guidance of the Centre Management, you will carry out a wide range of care tasks, offering people who access the service, emotional as well as physical support. You will assist people with personal care needs and provide physical and mental stimulation by taking part in social and recreational activities. You will also help to maintain accurate care records, and get involved in training and development. Promoting people`s independence, choice, dignity and respect by spending time getting to know them, their families and carers, will help you to deliver the high standards of person-centred care that is of paramount importance to the people who access the centre.
We’ll provide you with the training and tools that you need; all we ask is a willingness to learn and a genuine enthusiasm to encourage others to live their lives to the full.
