Description...

The aim of the Unit is to ensure adherence to, and effectiveness of, the St Helens Safeguarding Adults Policy, Procedures and Good Practice Guidance. These procedures are applicable to all agencies in the Borough providing services in the community. This includes social care, health and housing provided by statutory, private and voluntary sector organisations.

The Safeguarding Adult Coordinators role involves providing leadership and advice across agencies and plays a key quality assurance role in terms of ensuring a standardised application of procedures and promoting consistent working practices to ensure protection of vulnerable adults from abuse.

You must therefore have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to bring clarity and focus to this challenging area.

Applications are welcome from qualified professionals with a health or social work background who are able to demonstrate experience and a commitment to working with vulnerable adults. We would also welcome applications from professionals within other sectors, for example the police, who are able to demonstrate a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
