Based in the Town Hall, this is a key post in an important service area of the Council. High-level secretarial and administration skills are essential but equally important is the ability to act on your own initiative and respond effectively to a range of situations.
The post involves working in a very busy, often pressurised work environment, dealing with a wide range of people from members of the public to senior officers and elected members. Tact and diplomacy, confidentiality and a mature approach, together with excellent interpersonal skills, are therefore essential requirements of the post.
You will have excellent organisation skills, the ability to work to deadlines and a professional approach to all aspects of your work.
