'St. Helens is at the heart of the North West region, where the pace of change is as fast as ever, transforming both landscape and economy in recent years. St. Helens has a reputation for working in partnership to deliver development on the ground. We are currently working towards adopting a new local plan.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Design and Conservation Officer to join the Planning Service on a part time basis as a job share. The role will fulfil statutory duties in relation to designated and non-designated heritage assets in the Borough as well as providing design advice more generally and input into policy formulation. Quality and performance are at the heart of the service and are key priorities for the team as a whole. The successful candidate will therefore have a positive attitude and ‘can do’ approach to work within this context.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate sound judgement, have a flexible approach to problem solving and be capable of dealing with a wide variety of situations working within a friendly, supported environment.
