This position is within the Behaviour Improvement Team, part of the St Helens Local Authority Behaviour and Inclusion Improvement Service, which offers a wide range of support to encourage positive engagement with education and learning.

The Behaviour Improvement Team works collaboratively with local schools to support individuals, groups or classes of pupils who maybe disaffected or have social, emotional or behavioural difficulties. In addition it provides significant training and support for teachers and other professionals working in schools in order to develop and share best practice in relation to behaviour management, with the aim of having a major impact on school participation and individual attainment.

Due to the pending retirement of the current post holder a unique opportunity has arisen to join our team. The successful candidate will be expected to work in primary schools, with possible occasional working with older age groups depending on qualifications and experience. The person will report directly to the Deputy Head of Service (Support for Schools), managing a dedicated caseload.

You will be a qualified teacher, with a recent and successful record of working within schools. Experience in both primary and secondary education would be an advantage but is not essential.
