Description

The Halton and St Helens Emergency Duty Team is a new initiative, which offers the opportunity to develop a new approach to the delivery of emergency support services across two neighbouring local authorities.

The EDT provides an out of hours response to emergency situations for Children and Young People's Services, Adult Social Care and Health, Mental Health Services, Homelessness for Vulnerable People, Youth Offending and Asylum Seekers. We provide a point of contact for advice and where necessary an immediate emergency service to individuals and families who are experiencing crisis.

As a member of the Halton & St Helens EDT Service you will be part of a skilled and professional team including 6 full time social workers. You will work from a 24-hour office base and, at times, you will also be on-call from home.

Could you be who we are looking for?

Do you have the knowledge, skills and experience to deliver a high quality service to vulnerable children and adults?

Do you want to help shape the delivery of a new and exciting service?

Are you DIPSW or equivalent qualified with a minimum of 4 years post qualifying experience?

Are you an Approved Mental Health Practitioner with experience of working in a mental health setting?

Do you have experience of working in Children’s Services, with an awareness of the legislative and procedural issues relating to safeguarding work?

Can you operate with a high level of professional autonomy?
