St Helens Council is committed to offering young people, aged between 16-19 years of age, living in St Helens, the opportunity through the Apprenticeship Programme, to gain paid work experience alongside a recognised qualification.
St Helens Council’s Apprenticeship Programme has been running successfully for 10 years. We would like to build on this success and are looking for a number of apprentices to take up training and work experience in areas such as:-
· Business Administration
· Customer Services
· IT
· Amenity Horticulture
· Waste Management
· Construction (Highways Maintenance)
The offer is:-
- A one year contract paying £99.16 per week
- The chance to gain valuable work experience and a wide range of transferable skills
- Comprehensive on and off the job training
- The possibility of further opportunities after successful completion of the year
Apprentices will be assigned a Workplace Mentor and will have regular reviews with the Workbased Learning Co-ordinator to support their progress throughout the programme.
We are holding an Open Day on Wednesday 23 April 2014 in the Town Hall, St Helens, to give young people living in St Helens the opportunity to discuss our Apprentice vacancies in further detail. The Event will start at 10.00 a.m. and finish at 7.00 p.m. Further information will be provided at this event to assist you with completing your application form.
