At St Helens Council, we are committed to delivering high quality, excellent services for all children and families in the town.

Located within the Safeguarding Unit, you will work closely with other Council departments e.g. Youth Offending Service, Children's Centres and schools to promote Safeguarding in St Helens. With responsibility for quality assurance, you will ensure that our Social Care Teams are able to deliver high quality services that meet the Safeguarding Agenda and contribute to the Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) and other departmental business plans, to improve and promote Safeguarding outcomes for children and families.

As the Local Authority's Designated Officer you will have responsibility for the management and oversight of all allegations made against professionals working with children.

With a minimum of 3-years experience as a Team Managers or equivalent in Children’s Social Care, and knowledge of Safeguarding requirements, you will be able to communicate and motivate other professionals to develop services that are compliant with the Safeguarding standards expected by the LSCB.
