The sports development team, in partnership with local voluntary community groups, have established a number of sporting projects throughout the borough with over 1200 young people participating in activity each month.
We are now looking for suitably qualified coaches who are professional, enthusiastic and who are comfortable in leading sessions to assist in the delivery of these projects.
The coaches will be:
- Qualified to a minimum of National Governing Body of Sport Level 2 in one or preferably more sports.
- Part of a casual pool of sports coaches employed to allow the flexibility to set up programmes more quickly, on demand and ensure the levels of quality are maintained.
- Available for sessions which mainly comprise of late afternoon or evening and can include weekend work.
- The Active St.Helens Strategy highlights the need to increase female participation and this role is aimed specifically to work within these projects.
- The successful candidate should have an understanding of the barriers to participation especially amongst our target groups.
- Have within the last 2 years have attended a recognised Safeguarding Course and First Aid Qualification. In addition training in Sports Coach UK courses may be provided and you are required to provide necessary information for a DBS check.
