The Children with Disability Social Work Team forms a key part of the Children’s Integrated Disability Service. The Social Care Team Manager will oversee all statutory child protection activity, as well as support for looked after children and child in need activity. You will be social work qualified with at least 3-years post qualification experience in a social work team including child protection work.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to lead the Social Care Team who can inspire and motivate staff and work in partnership with parents and professionals alike. You must be passionate about improving outcomes for disabled children, and partnership working with parents and professionals to promote an ordinary life model. Within the Service you will lead in the area of Transitions to ensure seamless care management into adulthood.

The Service brings together staff from health, education and social services to create a fully integrated multi-disciplinary service for disabled children aged 0-19 and their families, has been operational for 5 years. We are undertaking a Service Review, which will strengthen our statutory roles in relation to Safeguarding and support for children looked after, and balance these better with child in need and family support activity. In the context of the SEND Reforms, we will be looking at how we improve joint assessment activity and extend our commitment to the Personalisation agenda
