The Governors wish to appoint an experienced Finance Officer to support the work of the School Business Manager in this challenging SEMH School. The successful applicant will be computer literate and also competent in using MS office packages in particular Word, Excel and Outlook. Ideally, the successful applicant will also be competent in using the SIMS FMS finance package. However, training will be provided if necessary. He/she will have the ability to prioritise workload in meeting deadlines and have a flexible approach to the role.
The position is for 37 hours per week term time plus INSET five days. The role will also include cover in the general office.
In delivering an efficient and accurate finance support service, duties will include:
Raising of orders, processing of invoices through to payment via the use of the SIMS
FMS system obtaining authorisation for payments and ensuring invoices are paid
according to the credit terms;
Reconciliation of supplier statements, liaising with suppliers including chasing up
outstanding orders and resolving differences;
Assisting the Business Manager at year end for both the School Delegated Budget and the school fund;
Maintenance of the asset register via SIMS Equipment Register;
Ensuring confidentiality and adherence to financial regulations and procedures;
Photocopying, scanning, shredding of financial documents in keeping with relevant legislation and procedures;
Accurate data input.
