The Governors of St Thomas of Canterbury wish to appoint two enthusiastic, flexible, hardworking Learning Assistants. An understanding of how to support teaching and learning, being sensitive to the needs of individuals, and the ability to communicate effectively with children and adults is essential. The successful candidates must have excellent literacy and numeracy skills and be able to work independently. Some cover supervision will be required.

The successful candidate will provide support for pupils throughout the school with duties ranging as follows:

· Supporting small groups of pupils with literacy and numeracy interventions.
· Supporting the class teacher with the preparation of resources and maintaining a high quality, interactive
environment for the children.
· Supervision of pupils and promotion of good behaviour.
· Establishing positive relationships with parents/carers.
· Contributing to the ethos of the school and supporting extra-curricular activities and events.

This post is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Disclosure Certificate.
