The Governors of this outstanding school are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring Learning Assistant to work as part of a team to support a child with additional needs. The successful candidate will have recent and relevant experience as an SEN Learning Assistant, a passion for working with primary aged pupils and be dedicated to making a positive impact on their learning and development. You will have a Level 2 or higher qualification and experience of supporting children in the Primary phase who have a range of challenging behaviours/needs. You will work with teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils while also promoting pupil independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. You will assist pupils so they can access the curriculum, participate in learning and experience a sense of achievement.

The successful applicant must be willing to take ownership of tailoring learning and resources to the child/children they work with, as well as working as part of a team. A flexible approach to duties and working hours will be required, together with a willingness to be involved in the wider life of the school.

Candidates must be committed to continuing professional development. Candidates must be able to work as part of a skilled, well informed and positive team of staff and be able to think creatively to meet pupils’ needs.
