Hours: 15 hours per week (12pm-3pm daily) term time only.

This post is linked to enhanced funding – initial contract from January 2019 – July 2019. Renewal of contract is dependent on renewal of funding.

We are looking for a caring, patient and motivated Learning Assistant to provide support to an individual child who is being assessed for a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and has specific learning needs in the following areas:

· Communication and Social interaction.
· Emotion and Behaviour.
· Sensory and physical awareness.


The primary role of the position is to:

· Promote the development of social skills (implement advice from the Language & Social Communications Service).
· Promote positive social skills.
· Encourage appropriate age-related behaviour.
· Support the child with aspects of literacy and numeracy.
· Monitor the child during afternoon playtime.

Qualifications: It will be to the candidate’s advantage to have an appropriate qualification (eg L2 Teaching/Learning Assistant/ NNEB).
