We are looking for a caring, patient and motivated Learning Assistant to provide support to an individual child who has been diagnosed as being on the Autistic Spectrum and has specific learning needs in the following areas:

- Communication and Social interaction.
- Emotion and Behaviour.
- Sensory and physical awareness.

The primary role of the position is to:

- Promote the development of social skills (implement advice from the Language & Social
Communications Service).
- Promote positive social skills.
- Encourage appropriate age-related behaviour.
- Support the child with aspects of literacy and numeracy.
- Monitor the child during afternoon playtime.

Although not essential, a qualification in L2 Teaching/Learning Assistant/ NNEB or equivalent, would be advantageous.

This post is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Baring Service (DBS) enhanced disclosure certificate.
