The Governors of Newton-le-Willows Primary School are seeking to appoint a skilled, caring, thoughtful and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant as soon as possible to support a pupil with special educational needs.

You will work with teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils while also promoting pupil independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. You will assist pupils so they can access the curriculum, participate in learning and experience a sense of achievement.

Candidates must be committed to continuing professional development. Candidates must be able to work as part of a skilled, well informed and positive team of staff and be able to think creatively to meet pupils’ needs.

The school, in return, can offer an opportunity to make a positive contribution to the life of the school and wider community and extensive training opportunities.

Experience of working with primary aged children and children with additional needs would be an advantage.

Learning Assistant or NVQ Level 2 qualification would be adventagous although not essential.
