At Garswood Primary we have a strong team of staff, and Governors, who work closely together to provide the best possible education for our children.

In January 2015 we opened a Nursery provision offering both morning and afternoon sessions (3 hours per day – 15 hours per week), wrap around care and lunch club for three year and four year olds.

The Governors of this successful, caring and inclusive school wish to appoint a Nursery Manager to be a lead practitioner within the setting – taking responsibility for the day to day management, organisation and smooth running of their new pre-school Nursery. Applicants should be excellent, dynamic and enthusiastic with proven experience of planning and delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage and will be directly accountable to the Early Years Lead.

The successful candidate will:
· have an excellent working knowledge of high quality Early Years provision;
· have evidence of outstanding, innovative and creative practice and have high expectations of children’s progress.
· embrace the inclusive ethos of the school;
· be qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in childcare;
· have relevant experience and a sound knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and assessment;
· be able to be part of a successful team with good organisational and interpersonal skills;
· have the ability to build sound relationships with children and their families
· have self-direction and a strong sense of initiative

They will be responsible for the day to day running of the setting; planning and delivering the EYFS curriculum and liaising with the Early Years Lead and other Early Years staff.
It would be expected that candidates have considerable and relevant experience.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to plan and deliver a group session with pupils, and will be required to undertake a short written task and a spelling and grammar task, following which they may be invited for a formal interview.
