Required from 1st January 2016

Due to the promotion of our Head of School, the federation seeks to appoint a Head of School to lead the Infant school within the federation, to effectively lead the day to day running of a school with the support given by the Executive Headteacher.

This is a non-class based role with a wealth of opportunities for the right candidate. You will be part of a forward thinking strategic leadership team committed to delivering the highest outcomes for all pupils.

St Mary's Catholic Infant School and St Mary's Catholic Junior School are both thriving and popular two form entry schools on two separate sites, a short walk from each other. Both the Infant and Junior Schools received a good judgement in May 2014 and more recently the Infant school received an outstanding section 48 Inspection. The children are drawn from the three parishes of St Mary's & St John's, St David's and St Patricks and enjoy an active role in all three churches.

Key Responsibilities

To be accountable to the Executive Headteacher and Governors:

· Leading, monitoring and evaluating learning, teaching, progress and outcomes for the pupils of
the federation;
· The effective day to day management of a single site;
· Ensuring a rich environment and relevant curriculum to promote successful teaching and learning
and high standards if achievement
· The effective implementation of the mission, vision, values and policies, promoting and
embedding this within the federation;

We are looking for someone who is:

· A practicing Catholic with a clear commitment to, and vision for Catholic Education;
· An outstanding teacher with a proven expertise in teaching and learning and openness to new and
innovative ideas;
· You will have at least 5 years teaching experience in ideally more than one key stage together with
senior management experience across the primary age range, including the administration of
performance management and appraisal;
· Experience of being an assistant / deputy headteacher;
· Has high expectations of standards and achievement;
· Excellent interpersonal skills and the qualities to motivate, support and inspire colleagues;
· Is ambitious with a willingness to make a difference;
· To work in partnership with the executive Headteacher in a strategic capacity, to drive the school
forward;
· To demonstrate outstanding teaching by developing excellent teaching across the federation in
line with the new national curriculum and new ofsted framework;
· Committed to working collaboratively with children, staff, parents and governors, local schools and
the parish;
· Ability to coach, mentor and support staff to being the best they can be;
· Has the ability and ambition to build upon our strong foundations to take our school from Good to
Outstanding.
