Description...

Rainhill Community Nursery School is a Local Authority maintained nursery school with 80 children on roll aged 3-4 and a newly-established provision on site for 2-3 year olds.

The nursery provides advice, guidance, training and support for other schools and settings and as a designated National Teaching School and National Support School, works with teachers and practitioners across a very wide geographical area.

As a result the role of our office team is key, both in organisational terms and in helping us to develop our Teaching School offer.

We would like to invite applications for the following two positions, to start as soon as possible:-

Post 1: Administrative Officer. The post is full time, 0.4 fte (2 days) of which is funded through the Teaching School grant and is therefore subject to the continuation of this funding. The successful candidate will lead our busy school office and will be responsible for the Clerical Officer appointed to Post 2.

Post 2: Clerical Officer. The post is part-time, for 20 hours per week. The successful candidate will work alongside and under the direction of the Administrative Officer.

Both posts require a range of skills, attitudes and strengths as set out in the respective job descriptions and person specifications. Both posts will involve the use of the SIMS database, purchase ordering, invoicing, cash handling, budget and finance monitoring, diary organisation for school leaders, and a wide range of reception and ‘front of house’ duties. However, of the utmost importance for both individuals are:-

· The highest degree of professionalism and integrity, prioritising the reputation of our school at all times
· Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
· Accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in a financial context
· An approach that focuses upon solutions and can cope with changes to routine at very short notice
· The ability to empathise with the needs and concerns of parents and carers of very young children
· The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, and with minimal supervision
· Flexibility, goodwill and generosity of spirit
Informal enquiries are welcome, and will be responded to by the Headteacher, Mrs Mavis Smith, or by the Assistant Headteacher, Ms Emma Nicholson.

Closing date: Friday, 10th March 2017

Interviews: Admin Officer – Thursday 16th March 2017
Clerical Officer – Thursday 23rd March 2017

The post is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Section Service (DBS) Enhanced Disclosure Certificate.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
