The Governing Body of Garswood School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, patient and hard working Learning Support Assistant to work in our popular nursery provision. The temporary post will cease on 21st July 2017.

Hours: Currently 18 hours but will increase in line with demand on nursery
placements

Tuesday: 8.40am – 11.40am and 12.05pm – 3.05pm
Wednesday: 8.40am – 11.40am and 12.05pm – 3.05pm
Thursday: 8.40am – 11.40am
Friday: 8.40am – 11.40am

Please note the candidate may be required to work additional hours on other days and the post is likely to increase after Easter to 25 hours.

Main duties will include supporting and scaffolding the children in their learning through play, engaging with the children to develop their language and understanding, finding out about children’s interests and extending them in their play, supporting and facilitating phonics and number activities with groups and individuals.

In addition tasks will include, under the direction of EYFS lead and nursery manager, engaging in assessment activities and preparation of resources and maintaining a high quality, interactive environment for the children.

It is essential that the candidate has excellent literacy and numeracy skills and excellent communication skills. It would be an advantage if the candidate has experience working with foundation stage children and an understanding of child development. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team and offer the highest level of commitment to the ensruning the best outcomes for the children.

This post is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Disclosure Certificate.
