Description...

St Augustine of Canterbury Catholic High School is an 11 - 16 school comprising some 600 students and 70 staff. It lies at the heart of the community it serves and welcomes students of all faiths, teaching them gospel values and nurturing them to become confident young adults.

The February 2018 OFSTED inspection accurately graded the school '4' in all areas. A year later, the school has made ‘significant strides towards overcoming some of the very significant challenges identified at the last inspection.’ (HMI February 2019) and governors have appointed a new Head of School to take up post in September.

We now need an inspirational Deputy Head Teacher with practical skills and experience, who can support our new Head of School in taking our school forwards, embed the changes made by the interim leadership and furnish our staff with the skills to consistently help our students to achieve the best outcomes possible.

Governors are now seeking a Deputy Headteacher who:
· Is a practising Catholic
· Lives the gospel values
· Recognises and understands the challenges of serving an area of diverse need
· Helps to drive the improvement agenda further with pace and vigour
· Encourages students and staff to achieve beyond their expectations
· Understands the role of Governors in challenging and supporting the school
· Has humour, compassion, determination and drive

The post is subject to satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Disclosure.
