The District CE Primary School is situated in the Earlestown area of St Helens and is within easy reach of the M6, rail transport and routes to Manchester and Liverpool. We are a voluntary controlled two-form entry school with 318 pupils on roll. We deliver a range of extended services, including provision for 2 year old children and we have excellent links with St. John’s Church. Our school is situated on a large campus style site, with an attractive learning environment, indoors and out. We are well resourced with excellent professional development opportunities.

The Governors of this welcoming and caring school are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and committed professional with the qualities and skills to support us to achieve aspirational outcomes for our pupils. You will work with our Headteacher and leadership team to deliver our school vision and values, enabling us to build on our current strengths.

As the deputy headteacher you will be specifically responsible for:

· SEND, working within our wider inclusion team.
· Inclusion and behaviour.
· Staff professional development

This is a full-time post, leadership scale L11-15. The successful candidate will take responsibility for an agreed teaching commitment (not a class based role). Governors welcome applications from teachers with relevant experience across the primary age range.

You should:

Be a strong leader with excellent interpersonal management skills and the ability to support, challenge
and inspire others.

Be an outstanding teacher with a proven track record in raising standards and with the highest
expectations for pupils' achievement and behaviour.

Have the knowledge and skills to support effective teaching and learning.

Have knowledge of the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice: 0 to 25 years and experience of working with SEND pupils.

Be willing to undertake the National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators.

Have experience of leading staff professional development.
