Title:
Proposed restructure of the Youth Justice Service
Summary of Decision:
In order to meet the needs of the service and the changing demographics in respect of volume and demand.
Proposed Decision:
Proposed decision is to delete 2 x Senior Practitioner posts in order to streamline the management structure in response to reduced caseloads. To delete 3 intervention worker posts and replace with one Intervention Development Officer role and introduce a Reparation & Unpaid work Coordinator. A part time Educational Psychologist will also be recruited. Two YJ officer posts will also be re-designated. One will be a Restorative Justice & Victim Liaison Coordinator role and the other a Looked After Child Champion role. This proposal reflects the change of direction in the service, which is now more focussed more on being trauma-informed and restorative in terms of delivery.
Summary of Reason for Decision:
Caseloads are reduced but complexity has increased & requires more input from specialist roles at this level.
