Title:
REVIEW OF FEES AND CHARGES - PARKS, OPEN SPACES & TOWN HALL ROOM BOOKINGS
Summary of Decision:
TO INCREASE THE FEES RELATING TO HIRE OF PARKS, OPEN SPACES & TOWN HALL ROOM BOOKINGS
Proposed Decision:
To increase the fees for the hire of borough parks, neighbourhood parks and open spaces and town hall room bookings.
Summary of Reason for Decision:
To review fees and charges for parks, open spaces and town hall room bookings which had not been increased for several years.
Reason for Decision:
The fees in these areas had not been increased for several years. The fees have therefore been increased to reflect in the main a 6% increase in charges. All local authorities are having to maximise income due to the ongoing impact of austerity.
Risks Associated with this Decision:
Risks of groups using alternative local authority spaces is possible, however unlikely as the review has considered costs in neighbouring areas
Measures to Redress Risk:
The fees have been reviewed so that they will have a minimum impact on small, community events. They will have a greater impact on larger, commercial events who have previously benefited from low cost fees.
Anti Poverty / Human Rights / Agenda 21 Implications:
None
