Welcome to the Natural Environment section of the Sankey Valley Country Park web site, the following pages contain details of Flora and Fauna which can be seen along the St.Helens section of the Sankey Valley Country Park. The Mersey Forest project is a partnership that is creating the largest of England's 12 community forests' - forests created within, around, for and by local communities.
It covers a total of a 465 square miles of land, across Merseyside and North Cheshire and involves nine local authorities, the Countryside Agency, the Forestry Commission and a wide range of private, public and environmental organisations.
